TRAINING and EDUCATIONAL SERVICES We are available to assist you with a wide range of training and educational services. We are A.I.A. approved education providers, therefore we are able to offer continuing education learning units for the following courses. The following access courses meet the continuing education requirements under California Senate Bill, SB 1608 for Building Department personnel and for license renewal requirements for Architects under the California Architects Board (CAB) renewal requirements for coursework regarding disability access requirements. - An array of disabled access related educational opportunities, including:
- The Americans with Disabilities Act (A.D.A.). - This course focuses on the non-building requirements of the law and will cover subjects such as - the definition of Disability; Employment under the ADA; Reasonable accommodations; Policies and Procedures; Self-Evaluations; Transition planning; Programs policies and procedures; and available Resources.
Accessibility California Style - This course integrates the nonresidential accessibility requirements of the California Building Code with the Federal access requirements of the ADA Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG). Both the scoping and technical requirements will be presented during the course of the program. Multifamily Housing Accessibility - This course will explore both the scoping and technical requirements for multifamily housing accessibility in California, under the California Building Code. - Universal Design - This half-day course discusses the 7 Principles of Universal Design, and the voluntary requirements for Universal Design in California.
