Richard Van Tuyle CAS#310

Richard Van Tuyle has worked for the City of Palm Springs as a Certified Plans Examiner and Certified Building Inspector from 2003 – 2010. Mr. Van Tuyle is also a Certified Access Specialist (CASp) by the California Division of State Architects, Certificate #310. This means that under the authority of Senate Bill 1608 as a CASp Inspector Mr. Van Tuyle is authorized to provide CASp certified inspections and reports.
Recent Accomplishments include:
- Lead building Inspector and Plans Examiner for the renovation of the Renaissance Hotel, Palm Springs – 410 rooms, restaurants, spa facilities, swimming pools, exercise rooms and meeting facilities
- Lead building Inspector for the renovation of the Riviera Hotel & Spa, Palm Springs - 406 rooms, restaurant and spa facilities
- Building Inspector for the Colony Palms Hotel, Palm Springs – 57 rooms, restaurant, swimming pool and spa area
- Plans Examiner and Building Inspector for the Palm Springs Senior Citizen Apartments – 116 units that had to be ADA accessible
- Building Inspector for both sit down and fast food restaurants in the City of Palm Springs
In 1981 Richard Van Tuyle became a Licensed General Contractor (411870) in the State of California. His experience includes Industrial, Commercial and Residential construction projects. Here are examples of some of the HUD projects he worked on:
- Fuller Lodge Living Complex, San Leandro – total of 52 units of which 26 were for the developmentally disabled
- Magnolia Lodge Living Complex, San Leandro – 21 units for the physically disabled
- Luella Fuller Group Home, San Leandro – All units (100%) ADA accessible
